Building Bridges

2023 Annual DEI Report

Welcome to our 2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Report for Davis Wright Tremaine.

In 2023, we witnessed a growing movement against DEI through political, legislative, and legal means, causing some to question whether DEI will continue at organizations like DWT.

At our firm, the unequivocal answer is: yes. Our commitment to DEI is one of our guiding principles as an institution. It is a core element of who we are and it is embedded in our new firmwide strategic plan. DEI is critical to our culture, to our colleagues, to our clients, and to our individual and collective success.

Our vision is to foster a culture where all talented individuals – including those from communities traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession – can have, and can see, paths to success. We will continue pursuing this vision with intentionality.

Our DEI four pillar framework – Community, Growth, Education, and Engagement – has guided us for the last several years and will continue to guide us. In this report, you will learn about how those pillars intersected with our institution in 2023.

DWT’s commitment to DEI remains steadfast. We look forward to continue partnering with you as we advance our shared commitment.

Thank you.

Best,

Scott MacCormack
