Corporate Partnerships

DWT’s approach to pro bono is novel, impact-driven, and purposeful. We work every day to reimagine the way pro bono services are delivered, and to create new, sustainable, scalable solutions that move the needle for communities in-need.

Key to this effort are partnerships with in-house legal departments. By leveraging the strengths and dedication of our corporate partners, we more effectively address complex challenges and bring more resources to bear, improving access to the justice system.

To learn more about how DWT supports in-house legal departments in their pro bono and social impact initiatives, and to join the In-House Gateway to Good (the firm’s novel pro bono software, available exclusively to DWT clients), please reach out to our pro bono corporate partnerships attorney, Kaitlyn Fallon.

At Financial Institution Pro Bono Day in early 2023, we partnered with financial services clients around the country to:

Conduct legal research for Texas Appleseed, a nonprofit that works to advance racial justice and equity by reforming the bail bond system.

Create financial education tip sheets for the Alliance for Children’s Rights in Los Angeles to support youth transitioning out of foster care.

Present educational trainings on how to avoid financial fraud and exploitation to senior centers in Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Some of our corporate partners for these events included Apple Bank, Capital One, Citi, Discover Financial Services, Key Bank, NERA Economic Consulting, Wells Fargo, and Zurich North America.

DWT also partnered with Mapping Segregation and the University of Washington’s Racial Restrictive Covenants Project, projects that map racially restrictive covenants across Washington D.C. and Washington state. The organizations educated volunteers about the history of racially restrictive covenants, the significance behind identifying them, and their lasting negative effects. Volunteers then worked together to identify covenants in deeds and enter information on each one into a database.

Some of our client partners for this important effort included Affirm, Amazon, Bloomberg, Blue Origin, Capital One, Microsoft, Redfin, Spotify, TD Bank, T-Mobile, and Ziff Davis.
